How to add FTP Accounts on Plesk Panel

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a network protocol used to transfer files between two computers through a private or public network. An FTP account is used for uploading and managing files on your website.


Below the steps to create/add an FTP account via your Plesk Panel:


  1. Log in to the Plesk account using the below link and select Websites & Domains option from the left-hand menu.

  2. Now select and click on the name of the domain where you want to add the FTP account.

  3. Click on the FTP Access option which mentioned in the below image.

  4. Now click on the Add an FTP Account.

  5. Enter the details in the respective boxes and then click on OK button.

  • FTP account name: Type the new FTP account name.
  • Home directory: Select the directory to which the user will be taken when connects to the FTP account.
  • FTP password: Enter a strong password or Generate from there.
  1. Once the FTP account created, you will see a notification and it will list there as in the below image.

  2. You may use any FTP clients (E.g. FileZilla) by inputting FTP login credential for connection between your local end and Cloud Servers, uploading or downloading file between 2 points can be performed via FTP method.
